Brazilian band Jurema Juice has released its self-titled debut album, emerging as one of the promising names in the stoner Rock scene in their country. The record arrives without any advance singles, opting instead for the complete listening experience as its starting point, with nine tracks that move between the weight of stoner Rock, psychedelia, and an identity deeply rooted in the culture of their region of Brazil, the Northeast. The release also expands into the audiovisual realm with a live performance, taking the work's aesthetic proposal beyond the audio itself.
“Jurema Juice” is a sensory experience that moves through different layers, ranging from the organic to the ethereal and reflecting the band's essence in every detail. Musically dense, the record is built on contrasts, flowing between tracks that explore love and human connection and others that delve into social criticism and reflections on global conflicts. The initial concept draws from an attempt to revive the esoteric flower power spirit of the 1960s and 1970s, enhanced by a heavier, contemporary, and psychedelic sound, while also incorporating elements of regional culture.
